Each monotype series will start with an idea, a concept, based upon a word , for example:  "circular" or it could be the movement "wrapping" -- what ever word comes to mind will  incorporate the physicality of making a sculpture -- it is not a rendering of the sculpture it is the essence of the sculpture.  It is the movement within the piece and the activity of wrapping, winding, cutting, and bending that  becomes part of the series.  Each series can take from a week to several months to complete -- all prints are used and all prints will have been run through the press a number of times until "it's done".   Each print is approached  with the original idea/word in mind, but with a unique approach -- which makes for interesting resolution. vjk
